Welcome to Student Information. Here you will find all the things you need to know as a Seafield student from your first day at orientation to learning resources, student support, health and safety and where to go if you need help.

Orientation

At orientation you will be warmly welcomed to our Campus by our team who will help and support you to settle in. Your well-being is our priority and we endeavour to make your experience with us the best it can be. Orientation includes activity based and team building sessions to help enable you to develop familiarity and engagement with Seafield School of English and with your fellow students.

During orientation, you will meet your tutor and Director of Studies who will provide you with course related details (requirements, content, timetable, term breaks etc). We welcome guardians of our Under 18 students to the Orientation.

Student Support Team and Emergency Contact

Seafield School of English has a dedicated Student Support Team to assist students and advocate on their behalf. We want you to get the most out of your Seafield experience. From arranging accommodation to meeting you on your first day and giving practical advice, our friendly, approachable Student Support team will support you and make sure you feel part of the Seafield family.

Seafield School of English encourages and promotes the development of flexible modes of teaching and learning, the use of new learning technologies and computer assisted learning management systems. Some features are:

Student Handbook

Find the information you need - easily. The Student Handbook is available to download and you tutor should have a copy. It includes information on how we can assist and support you, and our obligations as an education provider.

Health and Safety

Seafield School of English promotes an environment that is safe and healthy for all students and staff. If you have an accident, incident, or near miss, please speak to the Front Office at your campus to let them know.

Academic Policies

Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners

Seafield has agreed to observe and be bound by the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021 which provides the framework to support the wellbeing and safety of domestic and international students. The code makes clear that creating an environment that supports learning and wellbeing is a shared responsibility between tertiary providers, students, whānau and the wider community.

Code of Practice Self Review and Attestation:

What is self -review?
This is an ongoing process to compare NZSE College’s performance to the expectations of the Code. The aim is to identify strengths and areas of improvement so that actual, worthwhile changes can be made to our systems and practice.

What is attestation?
This is a declaration made annually by NZSE College to NZQA that a self-review has been undertaken of the learners’ well-being and safety practices under the Code.The Executive Summary for Self-Review 2023 can be found here
